About Me-Yaneli Hermosillo Carrasco
Hello everyone, my name is Yaneli Hermosillo Carrasco and I am 18 years old. I am a first-gen student who will be majoring in business. Personally, I had never really anticipated taking a marketing class. To be honest, the woman who assisted me while scheduling my classes suggested it. That being said, I have learned quite a bit in the two classes I have attended, and am looking forward to learn more about the marketing world. My main area of interest is how marketing fits into the organization and is a major component of the business industry. And just in case, a few suggestion's on how to promote my own company or someone else's in the future.
In high school, athletics, particularly wrestling, were my obsession. I began wrestling in the eighth grade and continued for five years. Boys beat me up my entire eighth-grade year. But when I was in high school, I was limited to wrestling girls, so it was easier for me to prevail. Although it was not enjoyable, being beaten up by boys ultimately helped me develop resilience. My sophomore year I qualified for the championships but didn't place. Fast forward to my junior year, I qualified again and got third in my bracket overall. After that, I went in with a single purpose and accomplished it, effectively retiring. Yes, I participated in multiple sports including track, cross country, and soccer. But that was just to maintain shape. They all lacked the same level of mental and physical discipline as wrestling. It ultimately altered the way I viewed life. I stand by discipline, it is the biggest factor for attaining something you want. reaching your goals requires patience and sacrifice, which is only possible due to yourself and discipline.

God's Thumb |
Apart from sports I enjoy spending time with my loved ones. One of my favorite activities is hiking; the other is working out, primarily lifting. I was raised in Newport but later on moved to Lincoln City. Both were very close to the beach, which I enjoyed a lot. The wonderful nature that accompanies the Oregon Coast is truly peaceful. The "God's Thumb" hike is my all-time favorite. It offers the greatest view of the beach and Lincoln City. Also, if you ever plan on hiking God's Thumb there are tons of garden snakes.
